HWY 169 Water Line Project

The Public Water Supply District #2 of Andrew County and its board of directors are committed to providing reliable, high-quality water for our customers.  To provide quality service at a reasonable cost, PWSD #2 of Andrew County is replacing and upgrading aging waterlines and facilities.

The next project on our calendar is replacing the 50+ year-old water line running along the south and east side of Highway 169 north of Avenue City to just past County Roads 289 and 310.  The 5” waterline will be upgraded to the 8” to provide increased flow and pressure.

The cost of this 2.6-mile project is being paid for with a federal grant and district funds.

The water district board voted to hire M-CON of Wathena KS as the contractor for this project.   M-CON has a long history of providing quality construction and utility service. References contacted by our district have provided very positive reviews of this company’s attention to quality work and customer service. M-CON plans to start construction work September 8, 2026.  Construction will continue through the fall and should be completed by the end of the year.

These improvements are necessary to meet the needs of current and future customers. They’ll also help ensure an adequate, clean and safe water supply. In addition, the improvements will increase system pressures while reducing long term maintenance costs. We know construction can be inconvenient, and we deeply appreciate your patience.

Thank you, as we make these important improvements to your water district.

Please feel free to contact the PWSD #2 office if you have any questions about the project.
